St. Thomas Church responds to local, regional, national and global requests for financial support. Through the work of the Outreach Committee, non-profit organizations are considered as recipients of grants.

In addition, St. Thomas Church sponsors ten community dinners throughout the year. Dinners are free and are held the second Saturday of each month September through June. Everyone is welcome. One or more parishioners take on the responsibility of shopping and preparing the meal. Other parish volunteers assist in set up, serving, visiting with our guests and clean up.

St. Thomas Church is host to the Open Arms Shelter for Homeless Men several times each year. Help is always needed to set up cots for the men and to provide a small snack during their overnight stay. Approximately 15-20 homeless men sleep in our Parish Hall on scheduled dates and as the need arises.

Holiday meals for shut-ins and "adoption" of two or more families to receive Christmas gifts are included in other outreach activities.

The Pumpkin Patch Project at St. Thomas, co-sponsored by St. John's Episcopal Church, Larchmont, Trinity/St. Paul Episcopal Church, New Rochelle, and All Saints Episcopal Church, Harrison provides an opportunity to enjoy fellowship and the spirit of cooperation as thousands of pumpkins are delivered, unloaded and sold on our front lawn. Local charities benefit from the proceeds of this event.

Our Thrift Shop is open Wednesdays 11AM - 3PM and Saturdays 10AM - 1PM. The Thrift Ship is closed the month of August. We are accepting donations of small household items and clothing in good or excellent condition during Thrift Shop hours. To reach the Thrift Shop by telephone you can call 914-777-3408.

Inreach Committee

The members of this committee respond to the needs of our parish family. This may include: preparing or arranging meals for the housebound or for a family in temporary need due to some hardship; transporting folks to doctor's appointments; a phone call from time to time to the lonely; sending cards; etc. This is the ministry for those who have busy schedules and cannot commit a lot of time on a regular basis. Volunteers are always welcome.
